Yes, Marie Callender’s pies are back, but it’s not the only place to get pie in Fresno

Boy, Fresno gets excited about pie.

News that Marie Callender’s Restaurant & Bakery has reopened its pie counter in Fresno just in time for Thanksgiving has the internet buzzing.

But it’s not the only place to buy pie. For people looking to shop local, there are plenty of Fresno-based bakeries and restaurants also selling pumpkin and other pies.

As for Marie Callender’s, the Shaw and Cedar avenues location started selling just pies last week.

Both of Fresno’s Marie Callender’s locations closed last year. A restaurant group has reopened one in Modesto and plans to reopen this one sometime this winter.

They were originally planning to reopen the entire restaurant with its full menu in mid December, but Fresno County’s new purple tier COVID-19 restrictions might push that into January.
