Vote: The best neighborhood holiday lights and displays in Fresno and Clovis

Three areas stand out each year for having amazing holiday lights displays throughout their neighborhood.

Cast your vote to decide The Fresno Bee’s best Christmas lights display for 2019.

Voting has been extended to 5 p.m. on Dec. 28, and the winning neighborhood will be revealed later that day.

Christmas Tree Lane (located in the Old Fig Garden area, along North Van Ness Boulevard between Shaw and Shields avenues): One of the oldest traditions in Fresno, Christmas Tree Lane started in 1920 with a single tree that was decorated to honor a child who had passed away. The tradition grows annually. Also, there are two nights each year designated solely for pedestrians along Van Ness (was Dec. 5 and Dec. 11). You can walk on other nights, but traffic is not closed off like it is on the designated walking nights.

Cindy Lane (located in northwest Clovis, near Peach and Alluvial avenues): Since 1993, residents of Wawona Ranch Estates have decorated their homes collectively for the holiday season. Walking in encouraging on all evenings, though people should be mindful of cars since the area isn’t closed to traffic. Cindy Lane has also been known as Candy Cane Lane and Holiday Lane. In fact, the original Candy Cane Lane once was located near Sunnyside Avenue but that Christmas display area eventually came to an end in 2011, partly because of the popularity of Cindy Lane.

Santa Claus Lane/Clovis Festival of Lights (located in Clovis at the southeast corner of Gettysburg and Locan): Now in its fifth year, Santa Claus Lane has become quite popular for its lights display that’s in sync with Christmas music that not only plays off the loud speakers in the neighbor but also in your car. Tune the car radio to 98.5 FM to hear the songs. More and more homes have participated in the lights display each year.
