Know someone who should be Fresno County Mom of the Year? They’re taking nominations
If you know of a special mom who’s doing amazing things or has overcome some obstacles in life, here’s your chance to help her get recognized.
The Women’s Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for Fresno County Mother of the Year (deadline is March 29).
There is certain criteria a nominee must meet first, however:
▪ The mother must be a resident of Fresno County for at least 5 years
▪ Have at least one legal child that reached the age of 18 years or older
▪ Be or have been active in the community
▪ Be available — should she win — for filming on April 28 (no exceptions)
The chamber is looking for a successful mother with evidence from her character, achievements and balanced life with her children.

Common traits for mothers worthy of nominations are courage, cheerfulness, patience, affection, kindness, understanding and homemaking
ability.
She also has a sense of responsibility in civic affairs, religious and service organizations, and is active in service for public good.
Nominators can provide details in their supporting letters using topics such as:
▪ Role Model
▪ Role in the Community
▪ Obstacles in Life
▪ Achievements
▪ Community Contributions
This is not a required list, only suggestions to assist how to write the letter.
Photos, videos, PowerPoint presentations also are welcome but not required.
Last year, Ronica Reyes, a Uplift Family Services regional manager, was named Mother of the Year for Fresno County.
