Social worker awarded Mother of the Year for being ‘true leader’
The Fresno County Mother of the Year award this year went to Ronica Reyes, who works as regional manager for Uplift Family Services.
Reyes was honored Friday at the 75th annual Fresno County Mother of the Year awards luncheon held at Pardini’s. The event was sponsored by the Fresno County Women’s Chamber of Commerce.
The county adoptions worker was nominated by friends who describe her as “a woman of strength” and “a true leader who inspires.”
Reyes earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees and later became a social worker.
Family and friends were invited to watch as Reyes and other nominees were honored with proclamations and certificates of recognition.
Other nominees for the award included Irene Boyd, Sherry Forath, Barbara Moreno, Elaine Sotiropulos and Judith Strickler.
