Another event postponed due to coronavirus. FresYes Fest will now take place this fall

FresYes Fest joins the list of local events now affected by concerns over the spread of the coronavirus.

Organizers of downtown Fresno’s annual beer, music and food festival announced on Wednesday the event has been postponed until fall.

“It is with extreme caution and an obligation to our Central Valley friends and neighbors that we have decided to postpone FresYES Fest until later in the year,” said Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Co. president Mike Cruz in a news release.

“The entire concept of this event is to bring people together to enjoy the best of the city and we can’t, in good conscience, do this while there is a threat to public health.”

The block-party event had been announced for March 21 with a lineup of seven bands, plus food trucks, vendors and a specialty beer dedicated to former Raiders coach Tom Flores (a Sanger native who was expected to be in attendance). The festival expected to draw just under 20,000 people and would have shut down streets surrounding Tioga-Sequoia.

A new event date for the event will be announced soon.
