Grizzlies’ Domingo Santana selected PCL Player of the Week
Fresno Grizzlies outfielder Domingo Santana was named the Pacific Coast League’s Player of the Week after hitting .545 for the period of June 8-14.
Santana, the No. 3-rated prospect of the Houston Astros, reached base in all six games he played, extending his league-best on-base streak to 34 games.
Santana drove in nine runs and had 12 hits – including his 11th home run of the season – while posting a slugging percentage of .864.
Santana will be in action at 7:05 Monday when the Pacific Northern Division-leading Grizzlies open a three-game series at Sacramento.
The Player of the Week honor is the second this season for the Fresno Grizzlies. Jon Singleton earned the award for the period May 11-17 for batting .357 (10 for 28) with five home runs (three grand slams), 23 RBI and a 1.363 OPS.
