High schools fall preview: Clovis volleyball standout Taylen Ballard

Clovis’ Taylen Ballard

▪ Year/position: Senior; outside hitter

▪ Why she matters: The 6-foot-3 Ballard, who was named one of www.prepvolleyball.com’s national top 50 juniors last season, is arguably the most dominant player in the Central Section. She was leading the section in kills before an ankle injury cut her junior season short with 10 matches left.

▪ What’s next: Ballard committed to national power BYU as a sophomore. She’s expected to sign her national letter of intent with the Cougars in November.
