‘Maniac’ drivers pose danger to cyclists on Friant Road

And another three cyclists critically injured this week on Auberry Road. They were out enjoying a weekday ride.

My question is this: How many more cyclists must we sacrifice before drivers become more aware, slow down, and in this case, simply do not drive under the influence?

This is a serious problem. My husband and his friends ride every week down Friant Road to Millerton, a road frequented by cyclists. The cars roar past them at unbelievable speeds and pass in the opposite lane. Friant and Auberry roads are popular cyclist roads and perhaps should be more seriously patrolled.

Attention law enforcement: Please start patrolling, ticketing these maniacs and protect those of us on our bikes. We love cycling and do not want to give up it up.
