The Fresno County coroner Friday identified a man who died in a double homicide early Thursday in the 20000 block of Auberry Road as John Asher, 44.

The bodies of Asher and Karisha Beardsley, 36, of Clovis, were found by deputies just after midnight by a friend of Beardsley. A 2-year-old girl, Beardsley’s daughter, was found alive in the home, near Millerton Road. Both Asher and Beardsley were gunshot victims.

Sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti said the sheriff’s office received a call about 12:30 a.m. from a friend of the female victim who reported finding her. Beardsley’s body was found in the home. Asher’s body was outside.

It is not known whether the two victims were related or knew each other, Botti said. Both bodies are being examined by the Fresno County coroner.
