Two found dead at home near Millerton Lake; toddler found alive
Fresno County sheriff’s detectives Thursday were investigating the death of a man and a woman at a home in the 20000 block of Auberry Road, near Millerton Road, southeast of Millerton Lake. Deputies also found a 2-year-old girl alive in the home.
Sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti said the sheriff’s office received a call about 12:30 a.m. from a friend of the female victim who reported finding her.
Deputies said the woman had been shot. She was later identified as Karisha Beardsley, 36, of Clovis.
Outside the home, deputies found the body of the man, in his 30s or 40s. He had also been shot. His identity had not been released as of Thursday afternoon.
Botti said that methamphetamine was also found inside the home.
It is not known whether the two victims were related or knew each other, Botti said. Both bodies are being examined by the Fresno County Coroner.
The girl, who was in the house, is the dead woman’s daughter. She was placed in the care of Child Protective Services.
