Teen boy accidentally shoots himself in the head
A 15-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the head in southeast Fresno and is in critical condition, police said.
Lt. Mark Hudson said police received a call at 1:19 p.m. Thursday from the Cypress Apartments at 1490 S. Chestnut Ave. The caller said his cousin had shot himself.
An ambulance took the boy to Community Regional Medical Center.
It appears the teen accidentally fired the gun and the bullet struck his head, Hudson said. Police were still investigating late Thursday afternoon.
The boy’s name was not released.
