Fresno man, 65, dies from gunshot wounds, suspect turns himself in hours later

Dennis Rozadilla, 65, of Fresno, has been identified as the victim of a murder in central Fresno, the Fresno County Coroner’s Office said Friday.

Hours after he was pronounced dead, a suspect turned himself in to police.

Officers responded at 12:30 a.m. Thursday to reports of shots being fired and a car speeding away near Glenn and Home avenues, just south of Fresno City College. Police found a vehicle stopped on the street with the victim in the car suffering from gunshot wounds.

He died at Community Regional Medical Center.

The suspect, who name has not been released, called police dispatch and said he was involved in the shooting and wanted to speak to officers. He turned himself in at the downtown police headquarters, Lt. Mark Hudson said.

Police said it is unknown if the homicide was gang-related.
