Hit by multiple bullets, man slain in central Fresno
A 33-year-old Fresno man was slain early Monday after he was shot multiple times at Harvard and Glenn avenues in central Fresno, police said.
Sgt. Andre Benson identified the dead man as Raul Cruz, also known as Rodolfo Cruz. Benson said Cruz is a field worker and was on his way to work about 4:30 a.m. when he was shot. A black Chevrolet Suburban was hit by gunfire.
Benson said Cruz died after he was taken to Community Regional Medical Center. Benson said there were several other people in the SUV at the time of the slaying and they are being questioned by detectives.
The slaying is the 35th in Fresno this year, compared to 18 at this time in 2016.
