Man killed, two injured in southwest Fresno drive-by shooting
Three men were wounded in a drive-by shooting in southwest Fresno Sunday afternoon, and one of them later died of his injuries, police said.
Fresno police Lt. David Madrigal said that around 2 p.m., police responded to Delno and Hawes avenues, near Chandler Executive Airport, for a report of a shooting victim.
Arriving officers found two victims with gun injuries. Madrigal said a third victim showed up at Community Regional Medical Center and said he was related to the shooting in southwest Fresno.
Two of the victims, ages 25 and 29, were reported to be in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries, Madrigal said.
One victim was initially listed in critical condition and later died. He was identified as 27-year-old Tyrese Bennett.
Madrigal said a car with two to three males drove up and someone in the car shot at the victims. Two apartments and a vehicle were also hit by gunfire.
Madrigal said police believe the incident is isolated but are not sure if it is gang-related.
