Brush fires break out on Highway 41 in Fresno, snarling traffic
Multiple spot fires broke out Thursday afternoon along Highway 41 between McKinley and Shield avenues, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The first fire call came at 3:36 p.m. By 4:12 p.m. traffic on the highway was backed up to Tulare Avenue.
Fresno police officers were shutting down on-ramps in the area to minimize traffic.
