Man drowns in pool at Fresno home, police say. Family members attempted to save him

A man drowned at a home Monday evening in Fresno.

Officers arrived around 6 p.m. to the home in the 4600 block of East Peralta Avenue near McKinley and Cedar and learned a man in his mid-30s had been underwater for several minutes in the backyard pool, Fresno Police Lt. Leslie Williams said.

Family members got him out of the water and emergency personnel took him to Community Regional Medical Center.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital, Williams said.

Police do not suspect any foul play.
