A man first reported missing in Yosemite National Park on Tuesday has been found alive and in good condition, the National Parks Service reported Friday.

Alan Chow, 36, was last seen near the Hetch Hetchy entrance on Feb. 17. By Tuesday, the parks service had begun a search effort.

On Friday, the parks service tweeted that Chow, who was on a solo backpacking trip, had been found above Wapama Fall in the Hetch Hetchy area. He suffered minor injuries, but he had brought enough food and water to wait for his rescue in a tent.

The parks service credited Chow’s survival and good health to his preparations and decision-making. Around 60 people from various state and federal agencies participated in the search.
