Coarsegold child and aunt located by authorities in Las Vegas
A Coarsegold child and her aunt have been located in Las Vegas after a Silver Alert was issued for them Monday.
Las Vegas authorities located 31-year-old Chyanne O’Conner with her niece, Graesky Johnson, 3. The girl was unharmed and taken into protective custody, officials with the Madera County Sheriff’s Office said late Tuesday afternoon.
Sheriff’s deputies said O’Conner came from Utah to visit her family in Coarsegold and left with her niece without permission.
After surveillance footage of the two surfaced Tuesday afternoon, investigators said they believed O’Conner might have run out of gas Monday night near Tulare.
California Highway Patrol Officer Vic Taylor said early Tuesday police were concerned because O’Conner could get disoriented and may have gotten lost. He added that information indicated she might be heading toward Southern California.
