Man struck by vehicles found dead on Highway 180
Around 1:16 a.m. Monday a man was reported to be lying in a lane of Highway 180 at Willow Avenue after being struck by two vehicles.
California Highway Patrol dispatch said a vehicle traveling westbound in a slow lane, at an unknown speed, struck the man. Then another vehicle in the far-right lane, traveling at 65 mph, hit the man a second time.
The second vehicle was unable to stop in time and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, dispatch said.
The driver of the first vehicle fled, dispatch said, and the second made the report to the CHP.
The man was not yet identified by authorities.
