Visalia police investigate drowning of woman

A 20-year-old woman drowned early Friday in Visalia, police reported. Officers went to the 1100 block of West Howard Avenue about 12:30 a.m., where they discovered the victim, who was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center. There, she was pronounced deceased.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family. Police say no foul play is suspected at this time, but the investigation is being handled by the department’s Violent Crimes Unit.
