This coffee-fueled milk may be the perfect marriage between two of Valley’s finest
You already love their chocolate milk and premium ice cream, and now Rosa Brothers Milk Company is teaming with one of Fresno’s most sought-after coffee roasters to create a new milk flavor: Cold Brew Coffee Milk.
On Friday, Rosa Brothers Milk Company and Lanna Coffee Co. launched their new product to rave reviews. During a public tasting, the new coffee-fueled milk got praise for its smooth coffee flavor and caffeine kick.
“Oh yeah, it will get you going,” said Nicole Schott, marketing manager for Rosa Brothers.
The new drink combines Rosa Brothers 2 percent milk with Lanna Coffee’s cold brew concentrate. The milky cold brew went on sale Monday at several local retailers, including Vons locations, The Market in Fresno, Food 4 Less locations, BL Quality Meats in Visalia and the Rosa Brothers Milk Company store in Tulare. Other retail stores will follow.
Noel Rosa, an owner of the milk company, said the dairy was approached in the past about bottling a cold brew product, but it wasn’t until he met Bryan Feil of Lanna Coffee that the two began talking about working together. Both companies are past winners of the Fresno Food Expo’s Fred Ruiz Entrepreneurial Award.
“We didn’t want to put our brand on something that wasn’t good and local,” Rosa said. “But Lanna Coffee is a great fit for us. They are local and it’s a quality product.”
Feil said he was honored to join forces with Rosa Brothers, saying he hopes it will help his company solidify its presence in the marketplace.
“We want to be known as the Valley’s cold brew,” Feil said.
The new drink, which will retail for about $3.59 for a single 12-ounce bottle, will also be entered in the Fresno Food Expo’s New Product Award. Online voting for the people’s choice award starts on July 13 at www.fresnofoodexpo.com.
