UberEATS has officially launched in the Fresno area with more than 80 participating restaurants. What’s that mean for you?

It means you can sit on your couch or in your office and use an app to order some of your favorite dishes from double pepperoni pizza to kamikaze fries. And all of it delivered straight to your door anytime: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even late-night.

So if you are craving a late-night snack, post-workout boost, or nutritious dinner with the whole family, it’s only a few taps away.

Uber started the service a little more than a year ago with just 1,000 restaurants in four cities. It now has 40,000 participating restaurants in more than 70 cities worldwide.

How does it work? It’s simple: Download the UberEATS app and you can look for restaurants by name, speed of delivery, price or dietary concerns.

And just like ordering Uber for a ride, you can track your food on the app from the time it leaves the restaurant to when it arrives at your door.

Included in the list of Fresno-area restaurants and trucks delivering food through UberEATS are Mama Mia Pizzeria, Wayside Noodles, Take 3, McDonald's, Yosemite Falls Cafe, Creamistry, Dominion Pizza, DiCicco's, Phoenician Garden, Latin Urban Bistro and El Taco Rapido.

The app and website show you what is available in your immediate area.

UberEATS promises to offer meals for every taste and occasion, from specialty local favorites to everyday national brands.

“We can’t wait to start serving more customers through UberEATS and introduce them to our delicious meals,” said Tom Lai, owner of KoJa Kitchen in the Park Place center at Palm and Nees avenues in Fresno. “Our restaurant is the first KoJa in the Central Valley and we are excited to bring Korean/Japanese fusion to residents throughout Fresno.”
