Fire damages mini-mart, gas station in central Fresno
A pre-dawn fire Tuesday heavily damaged a gas station and convenience store at Olive Avenue and Fresno Street, the Fresno Fire Department reported.
The blaze erupted at 5 a.m. at the store and spread quickly into the attic of the structure. A fire department spokesman said the building was full of boxes of merchandise, which helped fuel the fire.
About 15 firefighters quickly controlled the fire. The cause and amount of damage were under investigation.
