Tyler Henry makes people cry.

It’s not his intent. It’s just the nature of sharing his psychic abilities with more and more people.

Henry, who is from Hanford, has a growing list of celebrities he has worked with through his E! network series “Hollywood Medium With Tyler Henry.”

“There’s a whole bunch of different readings that people come for, and so sometimes they are really emotionally charged, and we kind of see a transformation where people get really emotional, and then you’ll also see throughout the show there’s actually moments where people come not really wanting to connect with loved ones but are actually curious about their personal lives, and that can sometimes involve their health, their family,” Henry said during a session last week at the Television Critics Association meetings. “So not all readings are tearjerkers, but for me, I think every client gets something out of it.”

Henry is one of Hollywood’s most sought after mediums. The second season of his series begins at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, on E!.

Excluding spinoffs, this series premiered in 2016 as E!’s most watched unscripted series launched in three years with total viewers.

The second season will follow the same format as the first. Henry will be driven to an undisclosed location where he will meet with a celebrity. He has not been told in advance who he will be reading, so there is no chance to do research. The production also does not interview the celebrity subjects to avoid any suggestion this is how Henry is doing his readings.

People refer to it as a gift, and for me, I actually prefer to view it as an ability.

Henry’s life has changed a lot from his days in Hanford. Living and working is different. He deals with the larger population because he can “turn down” his abilities. But, that doesn’t stop him from getting information about people who might not even be in the same state.

“People refer to it as a gift, and for me, I actually prefer to view it as an ability. I believe that through the ability of meeting a person, I’m able to ultimately give the gift of reconnection with their loved one. So when I apply the ability in a way that is going to be able to connect someone to a loved one, the gift comes in the closure and the messages that are delivered,” Henry says.

“When I’m not doing readings and I go about my day-to-day life, my ability can be very overwhelming. It does affect my life, and it does change it. It has its positives and its difficult parts, but it’s like anything. For me, I choose to focus on how gratifying it is and how much meaning it gives me. Because, really, I mean, that’s what it’s about.”

Having had one season of the series air has had one effect on Henry’s life. He has been told by people who doubted his abilities that they now understand what he is capable of doing. They often tell him they wish they had been nicer to him years ago.

The always-positive Henry, who is 20, is not certain what his own future will bring, but he knows he has time to make changes if he wants to.

“I actually have quite a hard time distinguishing my own future and kind of feeling and getting true to feelings about my life, and the reason being is oftentimes, because I find that I really can’t be biased with any information that I know about a person, and that’s why I chose to never know what I’m walking into,” Henry says. “And obviously with ourselves, we’re generally pretty biased. We have our own hopes, our anxieties, our fears. So when it comes to getting an idea about my own future, oftentimes I go to other psychics, actually, for that and to get guidance in that way.”

As for the future in general, Henry is asked to read Donald Trump. He laughs, and says he can’t. But he’s not worried about Trump.
