Blink-182 announces Fresno concert date
Fans of millennial pop-punk icons Blink-182 have plenty to be excited about these days.
The band’s seventh studio album, “California,” comes out in July and the band is kicking off a massive U.S. tour with A Day to Remember and All American Rejects. That tour includes a stop Thursday, Oct. 6, at the Save Mart Center in Fresno.
Tickets to the show, announced Monday, June 20, are $25-$75 and available 11 a.m. Friday, June 24, at the Save Mart Center box office, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at 800-745-3000. Presale tickets will be available to Citi card members 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21. Radio station New Rock 104.1 will also have presales available to those on its email list.
Blink-182 were the darlings of the post Green Day pop-punk scene of the late 1990s. Their 1999 album “Enema of the State,” was a hit, spawning three massive singles: “What’s My Age Again?,” “All the Small Things” and “Adam’s Song.”
Of course, this is the new Blink-182, with Alkaline Trio guitarist Matt Skiba replacing the band’s original guitarist, Tom DeLonge.
DeLonge caused an uproar with fans when he departed from the band last year – to help expose the truth about aliens, apparently. The revamped Blink-182 lineup released its first single, “Bored to Death,” in April.
