Harris se presentó a los estadounidenses como una mujer de clase media que aprendió a “no tener miedo” y a la que su madre siempre decía, cuando se quejaba de una injusticia, que no se quedara parada e hiciera algo, mantra que recordó Michelle Obama en un discurso esta semana en la convención demócrata.

Su inspiración para convertirse en fiscal, su primer paso en una vida política, fue la historia de una compañera de clase que era abusada por su padastro y que acogió en su casa. En su carrera concluyó que lo importante “no es representar a la víctima, sino al pueblo, porque el daño a uno es un daño a todos”.
