Woman rescued after 25-foot fall near Upper Yosemite Falls

A 28-year-old woman from the Netherlands was rescued Saturday afternoon with the help of the California Highway Patrol’s H40 helicopter after falling up to 25 feet near the Upper Yosemite Falls in Yosemite National Park.

The helicopter located the woman about 100 yards south of the falls bridge around 3:45 p.m., the CHP said Monday. Yosemite Park Search and Rescue was able to hike to the woman and assess her injuries.

She complained of severe pelvic pain and was unable to stand or walk, but was conscious, the CHP said. H40 hoisted the woman up and flew her to Ahwahnee Meadow where she was transferred to an ambulance.

There was no updated word on her condition.
