Even with the win, Petrissans said there is work to be done.

“We really need to continue to work internally,” he said. “I have to continue to push that for our kids. There are a lot of things we need to fix, but at least we are facing those things when we are winning these games, and I’m proud of them for that.”

Spurgeon finished with two touchdown passes and capped the scoring for Clovis East on a 55-yard rushing touchdown.

Next up for Clovis East is a massive showdown against Grant-Sacramento.

The Pacers had little trouble against Central East on Aug. 29 and won 42-26. Grant followed that win with a loss to Cardinal Newman, 15-7.
