Clovis North defeated Redwood 38-34 with a touchdown in the final 24 seconds.
Redwood briefly led late after Jordan Arreola connected on a 31-yard touchdown.
Tyree Sams sealed the win by deflecting a last-second Hail Mary in the end zone.
The Fresno Bee Game of the Week lived up to its expectations Friday night.
At first, it seemed The Bee’s fifth-ranked Clovis North were going to cakewalk to victory.
No. 17 Redwood, for a minute, had other things in mind at Mineral King Bowl taking a 34-31 lead with 2:04 remaining when Jordan Arreola completed a 31-yard touchdown pass to Oliver Richardson.
But here came the Broncos, led by QB Lucas Smith.

Smith completed a pass to Brody Kruse on a catch-and-run for a 16-yard touchdown with 24 seconds remaining that gave Clovis North a 38-34 victory over the Rangers.
“We talked about this and it played itself out tonight,” Clovis North coach Colby Hunter said. “Big night for us and moving in the right direction.”
The Rangers had a chance to take the lead with two seconds remaining.
Arreola threw a Hail Mary, but the ball was batted down in the end zone by Tyree Sams.
It was a sigh of relief for Hunter, whose team led 28-14 before Redwood battled back.
“You never want to be in that position where you have to play defense,” he said. “Try to protect everything, but our guys gave us a fighting opportunity, made the tackles when we needed to.”
