  • Central East retained No. 1 with a decisive 41-12 victory over Inglewood.
  • Clovis East rose to No. 2 after shutting out Bullard in the second half.
  • Wasco entered at No. 24 following a 14-7 upset over former No. 25 Porterville.

The first week of high school football in the Central Section is a wrap — and as a result there’s plenty of movement in The Fresno Bee Top 25 rankings.

Not moving, though, is Central East, which remains No. 1 after having its way against Inglewood in a 41-12 victory.

The movement comes below the Bengals, starting with Clovis East moving up one spot to No. 2 after rolling past No. 10 Bullard 26-7.

Frontier had been No. 2 and could’ve stayed there, but it is hard to overlook Clovis East’s dominating performance in the second half when the Timberwolves held the Knights scoreless.

Dropping out of The Bee’s rankings is Porterville, which opened at No. 25 but lost to Wasco 14-7. Wasco jumps into the rankings at No. 24.
