Clovis East cruises to section championship game with convincing win over Clovis

Top-seed Clovis East made quick work on No. 5 Clovis and made it difficult for quarterback Deagan Rose in the Central Section Division I-AA semifinal game.

Tyrone Bishop returned a 52-yard interception return for a touchdown to help the Timberwolves get back to the the title game for the first time since 2006.

Clovis East was having so much fun, after the pick-6, that the Timberwolves recovered an onside kick

A play later, Tyus Miller completed a 48-yard touchdown to Harold Duvall for a 33-7 lead in the second quarter.

It was all Clovis East and nothing the Cougars could do to get back in the game.

The Timberwolves remain undefeated at 12-0.

Rose was sacked three times and intercepted twice, including the pick-6.

Miller finished with four passing touchdowns and ran one for a score.

Taemell Horton had a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown for the Timberwolves.

Clovis East will try to win its first section championship since 2006 and third in school history.

The Timberwolves meet Central at 7 p.m. Nov. 22 at Lamonica Stadium.
