Still undefeated and ready for the Central Section playoffs.

The Bee’s top-ranked Clovis East didn’t leave any doubt in Friday’s 38-21 victory over No. 2 Clovis North to secure the Tri-River Athletic Conference title outright for the first time since 2005.

It took a bit from offense and defense to get the job done and it was Oshea Webb’s 95-yard Pick-6 late in the fourth quarter that secured Clovis East’s win at Lamonica Stadium.

At long last for the Timberwolves.

“Put a game plan together, we stuck with it and I couldn’t be more proud of these coaches and players,” Clovis East coach Brandon Nagle said.

“They were driving down the field and Oshea. That’s Oshea. He just always finds a way around the ball.”

The Broncos were driving into Clovis East’s territory trailing 31-14, but Webb stepped in front of a receiver and ran for the touchdown off Lucas Smith.

It was Webb’s third pick-6 of the season and fifth interception.

“I said in my head ‘it’s game.’” Webb said. “I’m going to walk off right here and the rest is history.”

The win likely gives Clovis East the top seed in the Central Section playoffs, which will be announced Saturday afternoon.

It’s difficult to go undefeated in the TRAC, much less going undefeated in nonleague.

Clovis East picked up key wins over West-Salt Lake City and Grant-Sacramento at Lamonica Stadium.

Nagle said those types of games prepared his team for the TRAC and hopefully in the playoffs.

Clovis East quarterback Ty Miller finished the game with one passing touchdown and ran it in twice for a score.

The UC-Davis bound senior was ecstatic after the win.

“Four years in the making,” he said. “A lot of hard work and a lot of preparation. I’m just overwhelmed.”

His lone touchdown pass went to a returning Donyell Booker Jr., who was out the past two games with an injury.

He professed his return when a sign on his equipment said “I’m back.”

Booker made his presence known and was surprised that Clovis East’s last outright title came the year he was born.

“It was great to be back with my brothers and my family,” he said. “I missed them, but we’re coming back strong and we got a lot more to do, though.”

Clovis East receiver Harold Duvall knows a lot more is at stake and that they can only enjoy the TRAC for a little time.

“We gotta get back to the drawing board,” he said. “We’re in the playoffs and we don’t want to go home. I’m not trying to go home.”
