High school football season finale: Top picks and league championships at stake
The season finale of high school football is here. A lot to be made this week including rivalry games and deciding who will be the league champ.
It’s an exciting time.
Last week, The Fresno Bee did not make any picks. This week is different as The Bee will go from picking five games to pick 10 games.
Away we go with the picks:
Clovis East vs. Clovis North: The defending section champions Broncos are tough. They put doubters into believers but can they believe they’ll top high-powered Timberwolves, ranked No. 1 by The Bee? Experience matters? Not this time. Clovis East 37, Clovis North 34
Sanger at San Joaquin Memorial: This is for the County/Metro Athletic Conference matchup. A win by the Panthers would mean they will share the CMAC title with the Apaches and Bullard if they can knock off Edison. Sanger 34, SJM 30
Roosevelt vs. Fresno: This is the annual Little Big Game where Ponco the bronze pig is up for grabs. The Rough Riders retained Poncho last year. This year is no different. Roosevelt 47, Fresno 13
Tulare Union vs. Tulare Western: Loving this matchup at Bob Mathias Stadium, but Jordan Crisp and the Tribe will be too much in this game. Tulare Union 45, Tulare Western 23
Clovis vs. Clovis West: Range Rider Trophy up for grabs in this rivalry game. Clovis 52, Clovis West 34
Hanford at Lemoore: This is for the Milk Can. This is all Bullpups. Hanford 43, Lemoore 27
Selma at Kingsburg: Fire Hydrant Trophy game that will once again stay in Kingsburg. Kingsburg 34, Selma 14
Mt. Whitney vs. Redwood: And this is the Cowhide Game. Who will prevail? Redwood 27, Mt. Whitney 13
Kerman at Washington Union: Battle of the Cats. The Lions will roar over the Panthers. Kerman 32, Washington Union 27
Dos Palos at Coalinga: For the West Sierra League title. Both teams are 4-0 in the WSL. Coalinga 24, Dos Palos 20
