Julien Velez of Kerman High is The Fresno Bee’s high school football Player of the Week for Oct. 19-20.

Velez won the poll with 5,444 votes (61%).

Finishing second was Justin Hurd of Dos Palos who had 1,721 votes (19%). Daniel Mendez of Madera was third with 900 votes (10%).

Twenty-six players were nominated. Voting ended at 11:59 p.m. Oct. 29.

Recent winners are Jordan Colbert, San Joaquin Memorial; Noah Zamora, McLane; Elijah Daley, Lemoore; Jayden Silva, Mendota; Israel Robles, Sanger; Andre Flores, Dos Palos; Noah Tasi, Coalinga; Johnny Cunha, Lemoore; and Earl Riley, Central.
