High School Football

How The Bee’s football rankings look after Week 6. Did Clovis move up after loss?

The Fresno Bee Top 25 high school football rankings have a different look with teams in the Bakersfield area moving down while Clovis advanced despite a loss.

Third-ranked Central defeated the Cougars 27-20 on a long kickoff return by Imari Conley.

The win doesn’t move Central because Buchanan and Liberty-Bakersfield won in convincing fashion.

Clovis, however, moved up one spot to No. 9 because previously unbeaten Centennial lost to unranked and sub-.500 Bakersfield 28-13.

Another team dropping is Clovis East, which lost to Clovis North 23-6. The Timberwolves fell five spots to No. 24 while Clovis North moved up one spot to No. 23.
