It’s not the ending Bullard High wanted.

But after starting the season 0-3, the Knights at least can say they’re co-league champions.

Edison certainly can relate.

The Tigers also started the year 0-3 but are co-champs of the County/Metro Athletic Conference after holding off Bullard 20-14 Friday night.

Edison (6-4, 4-1) and Bullard (5-5, 4-1) split the title only two ways because Sanger (8-2, 3-2) lost 35-14 to Memorial (8-2, 3-2) – at Sanger’s Tom Flores Stadium, no less.

Tri-River Athletic Conference – Top-ranked Central (9-1, 5-0) swept TRAC play for the second straight season after capping this year’s run with a 55-7 win against Clovis East.

Clovis West (8-2, 4-1) bounced back from its 40-13 loss to Central last week and defeated Clovis 45-21 in a finale Friday. The Golden Eagles finish second in the TRAC.

And Buchanan (8-2, 3-2) takes third in the league, having lost to Central and Clovis West to start conference play but concluding it with wins against Clovis, Clovis East and Clovis North.

Undefeated – Four Central Section teams finished undefeated regular seasons:

▪ Caruthers (9-0 overall, 4-0 West Sequoia League) beat Fowler 42-14 in a finale.

▪ Strathmore (10-0, 5-0 East Sequoia League) beat rival Lindsay 56-14 in the 94th Battle of the Bell.

▪ Tulare Union knocked off Tulare Western 62-14 in a battle of unbeatens.

▪ Yosemite, which dropped out of the North Sequoia League last season, wrapped up an 8-0 campaign with a 44-10 win over Mountain Bowl rival Sierra.
