After Buchanan High’s stunning loss to Central on the road, it seems the Bears boys basketball team is answering the call.

And if Tuesday’s 66-58 victory over The Bee’s second-ranked and defending Central Section champion Clovis North is any indication, other teams may need to take notice.

What is impressive about the victory is it came at Clovis North’s court, where the Broncos had won the past 14 Tri-River Athletic Conference games.

That all ended Tuesday behind Connor Sheets’ 26 points. Dax Stout finished with 19 points for the third-ranked Bears.

It was Buchanan’s first victory at Clovis North since the 2016-2017 season.

Bears coach Tom Orlich has led his team to a 19-3 overall record and 3-1 in the TRAC.

Last week, the Bears lost to No. 20 Central 64-61.
