Central stuns Buchanan, Roosevelt edges Bullard in thrilling boys basketball matchups
What a crazy week it was in boys basketball, and it’s just the second week of league play.
In Tri-River Athletic Conference action, Central faced Buchanan.
The Bee’s 23rd-ranked Grizzlies built a 16 point lead and hung on for a 64-61 victory over the third-ranked Bears.
Gerald Perry led the way for Central with 16 points. Sier Harbin and Josiah Perry each had 13 points.
The Grizzlies led by as many as 16 points, but Buchanan went on a 16-3 run to cut into the lead.
Jaiden Anderson and Dax Strout led the Bears with 16 points each. Connor Sheets was held to 11 points.
On Wednesday, No. 13 Roosevelt hosted No. 5 Bullard and came away with a 77-75 victory.
The Rough Riders’ Cobi Posas finished with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Roosevelt’s James Miller added 19 points despite sitting most of the third quarter with four fouls.
