Prep soccer: Buchanan boys, Clovis East girls top rankings

With the holiday tournament season in the rear view mirror, league play launches this week for most Central Section boys and girls soccer programs.

The County/Metro Athletic Conference, North Yosemite, East Yosemite, Southeast Yosemite, South Yosemite, Central Sequoia, North Sequoia, East Sequoia, West Sequoia, East Sierra, West Sierra and High Desert leagues are all set to open.

The Tri-River Athletic Conference, West Yosemite, Southwest Yosemite and South Sequoia league seasons are already underway.

Marquee games of the week include the No. 2 Buchanan girls at No. 1 Clovis East at 3 p.m. Tuesday and the No. 3 Central boys at No. 6 Clovis at 5 p.m. Friday.
