Clovis Unified School District’s dominance of Central Section Division I team championships, and, specifically, Clovis West’s rule in girls golf, continued Monday.

The Golden Eagles, with not one senior starter, won their third consecutive title behind sophomore Aya Enkoji’s 3-over par 75 at Taft’s Buena Vista Golf Course.

Dani Kinder’s 77 led Lemoore to the D-II championship.

Enkoji shared the day’s medalist honors with Bakersfield Christian’s Madi Daniel.

Clovis West, which has won eight of the past 10 D-I titles, also received an 83 from junior Allyson Musser, an 86 from sophomore Madison Nii and a 94 and 97 from freshmen Taylor Dufresne and Kayla Terrey to edge Tri-River Athletic Conference rival Buchanan, 435-438. Liberty-Bakersfield was third at 445.

Buchanan, which beat Clovis West by three strokes for last week’s North Area title at Madera’s Dragonfly Golf Club, was led Monday by Hannah Lovering’s 81, Marissa McCardell’s 86 and Jocey Twet’s 88.

Clovis West and Buchanan will advance to the Southern California Championship on Nov. 12 at Jurupa’s Goose Creek Golf Course.

Clovis Unified last school year won a record 20 of a possible 23 section D-I titles, including all 11 female sports.

The district has routinely won 70% to 80% of all section titles for the past 30 years, but the 87% last year made history. That also included going 10 for 10 in all boys and girls sports in the spring.

The section individual championship will be next Tuesday at Visalia’s Valley Oaks Golf Course.
