Buchanan wins Central Section Masters track and field championships, plus results

Buchanan High boys and girls track and field wrapped up the Central Section Masters finishing in first place.

It is a prelude to the CIF state championships, which will be held at Veterans Memorial Stadium next weekend.

The Bears boys finished with a comfortable 100 points. Central East was second with 76 points.

The Bears girls, though, edged out Central East 84-83.

Defending state champion McKay Madsen of Clovis North won the shot put and discus at the Masters.
