Who advanced to the Central Section softball semifinals? Here are the latest scores

Semifinal matchups were decided in Tuesday’s Central Section playoffs.

Every top seed advanced except Hanford West as No. 9 Edison defeated the Huskies 3-2.

Other top seeds such as Central East (D-I), Wasco (D-III), Woodlake (D-IV), Orcutt Academy (D-V) and Kern Valley (D-VI) moved on.

There was one upset as No. 7 Pioneer Valley eliminated No. 2 Fowler 10-3.

The winners of the semifinals will play in the championship next week at Margie Wright Diamond at Fresno State.

Of note: Kerman’s Jayanna Gonzales drove in the lone run in the fourth inning; Grace Gillis pitched a four-hitter and threw 14 strikeouts for Strathmore; Alexis Verduzco pitched a two-hitter and had 11 strikeouts for Edison; Iyanna Molano went 5 for 5 with a double and three RBI for Roosevelt and Ella Bakholdin went 3 for 4 with a home run and three RBI for Central.
