High schools: Easter tournament schedules, plus The Bee’s baseball, softball rankings
With Easter nearing that means the annual baseball and softball tournaments will get started in the Fresno area, though the Fowler Easter Classic baseball got a jump last Saturday with Fowler defeating Minarets 9-5.
The Fresno Easter Classic will be in its 55th year and features many teams from both the area and also outside the area.
In last season’s championship, Clovis North defeated Clovis 8-1 at Stan Bledsoe Field at Clovis West. This season’s championship will be held at the same site at 7 p.m. April 16.
In softball, Buchanan will host the annual Easter Classic starting Monday.
Track and field
The Sanger Easter Classic is set for April 15 at Dodson Field.
The track events will begin at 3:30 p.m., field events at 3 p.m.
At least 21 teams will compete at Dodson Field, located at Washington Academic Middle School (1905 Hoag Ave.).
Parking is $5 and meet admission is $8 for adults, $5 for students with ID and seniors.
