It has been a while since the Clovis North boys soccer team tasted a loss. You would have to go back to Dec. 3 when the Broncos faced McLane.

In that match, Clovis North fell 2-0 to the Highlanders. Fortunately for Clovis North, maybe that served as a wake-up call because since the loss, the Broncos have won not lost a match en route to a 16-1-3 overall record and 9-0-1 in the Tri-River Athletic Conference under coach John Spurgeon.

The TRAC champions were awarded the top seed in the Central Section Division I playoffs and will face No. 16 Righetti at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Nixon Hansen has scored 24 goals for Clovis North.

Other top seeds in the Central Section playoffs are Lindsay (D-II), Sanger West (D-III), Riverdale (D-IV), Dos Palos (D-V) and Caruthers (D-VI).

Playoffs begin at 3:30 p.m. at schools without lights and 6 p.m. for those with lights.
