Central Section volleyball championships set with top-seed going down, plus other matches

The stage is set for the Central Section girls volleyball championships.

The semifinals wrapped up on Tuesday and a top-seed went down.

No. 4 seed Clovis North defeated No. 1 San Luis Obispo 25-23, 25-20, 27-25 in Division I. The Broncos will meet No. 3 Clovis West in the championship after the Golden Eagles took care of business and defeated No. 7 Bakersfield Christian 25-19, 25-14, 25-15.

Clovis North and Clovis West split in both matches this season.

Other championships set include No. 1 Central Valley Christian against No. 3 San Joaquin Memorial in Division II; No. 1 Porterville meeting No. 6 Bullard in Division III; No. 1 Fresno Christian playing No. 3 Immanuel in Division IV; No. 5 Coalinga meeting No. 2 California City in Division V and No. 2 Avenal playing No. 4 Woodlake in Division VI.

Championship matches to begin at 6 p.m.
