The Buchanan High girls cross country team placed first in the annual Clovis Invitational large race.
The Bears finished with 65 points ahead of JSerra Catholic’s 104, Santiago Corona with 119 and Ventura at 153 at Woodward Park Saturday morning.
Sophomore runner Molly Sundgren was the first Bears’ runner to cross the finish line when she came in 11th in 17 minutes, 44 seconds. Following her was Kyunzelee Buckley (15th, 17:50.5); Gaby Gutierrez (18th, 17:51.9); Brooklyn Buckley (20th, 17:52.3); Avery Hutchison (32nd, 18:15.5); Elle Lomeli (45th, 18:32.9); Tayler Torosion (57nd, 18:49.3).
Isabella Ramirez of Bullard was the top finisher from the Fresno-area when she placed eighth in 17:25.2.
On the boys side, Clovis was fourth with 274 points and Sanger ninth at 363.
