Fans pick: Javier Torres of Dinuba is The Fresno Bee boys basketball Player of the Year

Javier Torres of Dinuba High was the fans’ pick for The Fresno Bee boys basketball Player of the Year.

Torres had 2,653 votes (64%) as he finished ahead of Jaden Pena of Coalinga.

The Bee has already selected its Player of the Year, to be profiled along with the Coach of the Year, division players of the year and our all-star team later this month.

Torres was picked the West Yosemite League Most Valuable Player.

Torres helped the Emperors to a Central Section Division II title with a 46-42 victory over Mission Prep.
