San Joaquin Memorial has a moment playing on the Los Angeles Lakers’ home court
The San Joaquin Memorial boys basketball team took center stage at Crypto.com Arena, home of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Panthers participated in the Coastal Catholic Classic on Saturday afternoon and played St. Bernard.
SJM won the game 79-73 behind Parker Spees’ 26 points and eight rebounds. Josh Palmer added 21 points for the Panthers.
“We enjoyed the moment,” Panthers coach Brad Roznvosky said of playing on the Lakers’ home court.
It all came together for SJM when Roznovsky received a call from Notre Dame-Sherman Oaks coach Matt Sargent about playing in the classic.
It was a no-brainer for Roznovsky.
“We agreed to it,” he said. “We hope we get invited back next year.”
