Asterisk Talley of Chowchilla is The Bee’s Athlete of the Week winner for week of Oct. 9

Asterisk Talley of the Chowchilla High golf team is the winner of The Fresno Bee’s Athlete of the Week poll for Oct. 9-14.

She had 5,531 votes (54%) to finish ahead of Sydney Bowns of Clovis North water polo who had 4,321 votes (42%).

Fifteen high school athletes were nominated from golf, cross country, volleyball and water polo.

Voting ended at 11:59 p.m. Oct. 22.

Recent winners were Evan Torres, Parlier cross country; Riley McDaniels, El Diamante girls cross country; Kinsley Allan, Sanger girls cross country; Vanessa Villavicencio, Sanger West volleyball; Kennedy Cutler, Redwood volleyball; Faith Bakker, Immanuel volleyball; Davin Collazo, Kingsburg girls water polo; and Drew Rhoads, Lemoore water polo.
