Faith Bakker of Immanuel voted the Fresno-area’s Athlete of the Week for Aug. 28

Faith Bakker of Immanuel High girls volleyball was voted the Fresno-area’s Athlete of the Week for Aug. 28-Sept. 2.

Bakker won the poll after getting 27,419 votes (47%). She won the poll over Brendan Meyer of Lemoore boys water polo who received 21,731 votes (37%). Sienna Abernathy of Kingsburg girls water polo was third with 6,050 votes (10%).

Eighteen high school athletes were nominated coming from cross country, volleyball and water polo.

Voting ended at 11:59 p.m. Sept. 10.

Recent winners were Davin Collazo of Kingsburg girls water polo and Drew Rhoads of Lemoore water polo.
